A medical practitioner required to work shifts that include weekends receives a 5th week of annual leave (clause 22.2).

Notes & exclusions. Occupational award for salaried doctors in hospitals, day-procedure centres and community health services. It excludes GPs in private practice and partners, medical receptionists and clerks, allied health (physios, OTs) and nurses. Penalties vary by classification; the rates shown here use the career and senior-doctor structure (evening 112.5%, night 125%, Saturday 150%, Sunday 175%, public holiday 250%). Doctors in training instead have per-occasion night penalties and weekend work paid as overtime. On-call and recall attract separate allowances. Weekend shiftworkers get a 5th week of leave and the higher of 17.5% or the shift penalty as leave loading.
