Set by Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020 (MA000084) and the NES.
Where this award goes beyond, or sits at, the NES floor.
A 7 day shiftworker who is regularly rostered to work on Sundays and public holidays receives a 5th week of annual leave (clause 24.2).
Standard 17.5% on minimum hourly rate. Shift workers receive the GREATER OF 17.5% or the shift penalty they would have earned during the leave. Run the numbers in the annual leave loading calculator.
Facilitative rather than automatic. Clause 13.4 contemplates a 38-hour week with one rostered day off in each 4 weeks, capped at 13 RDOs in any 12 months, with 4 weeks notice of the weekday on which the RDO falls.
The Storage Services & Wholesale Award sets your pay rates, but your paid leave runs on the National Employment Standards. Work out 4 weeks of holidays with the annual leave calculator, and your 10 days of paid sick and carer's leave with the personal leave calculator. To confirm which award applies to you and how it lifts entitlements above the NES floor, read our guide to modern awards.
The Storage Services & Wholesale Award (MA000084) is the common name for the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020. Industries, work types and exclusions are taken from the Fair Work Ombudsman summary.
Notes & exclusions. Ordinary hours are 7.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, so weekend work is only ordinary time if the employer and employees agree to it: otherwise Saturday and Sunday hours are overtime. Saturday ordinary hours are a flat 150% with no 2-hour split; the 150% then 200% split applies to overtime Monday to Saturday. Sunday is 200% and public holidays 250%. Three shift loadings apply, early morning 112.5%, afternoon 115% and night 130%, and they are replaced (not added to) by the weekend rates when weekend ordinary hours are agreed. Casual loading is 25% on ordinary hours only; casual overtime is paid at the permanent overtime rate with no loading on top. Annual leave loading is the greater of 17.5% or the weekend or shift penalties the employee would have earned. The award also carries an accident-pay clause: up to 26 weeks topping workers compensation up to the employee's normal weekly wage. Storeworker and Wholesale streams are separate names for the same money, and the structure stops at grade 4. Employers covered by the Road Transport and Distribution Award are excluded.
Each classification has its own pay grade. Use the FWO Pay Calculator for current dollar rates.
